Home Spa With Your Mama, This Mother's Day.

Did you ever give your parents a “gift card” for a hug or massage when you were younger?

We know this Mother's Day might look very different for a lot of people. It might not be possible to visit each other or go out for a special day.

But we had a fun idea, make a zoom date with the nurturer in your life and have an at-home SPA with your Miiko Skin Co products!

Pour a glass of wine, throw on a bathrobe, and spend some quality time while nourishing your skin!

P.S. We'll be doing a virtual Mother's Spa Day and sharing our oil cleansing spa routine on Instagram this weekend, so keep an eye out for that if you'd like to follow along with your loved one!

Spa Prep Checklist:

  • Fold up a few face cloths for hot and cold use
  • Find a cozy spot in the house where you can set-up your screen, and sit back with your feet up!
  • Make sure your charger is accessible (you don't want to be bothered with electricity while you are at the spa).
  • Put a few towels down where your feet will be if you choose to do the foot scrub (see below).
  • Make your foot scrub (1 cup sugar, 4 tbsp melted coconut oil, a few drops of essential oil, or Vanilla Body Oil)
  • Get your drink of choice (wine, tea, cocktail, fancy water)
  • Come to your spa with a clean make-up free face
  • Get all of your Miiko Skin Co products ready and accessible

You are ready! Give your loved one a call and enjoy the following routine!

        At-Home Spa Routine

Step One: Warm Towel & Oil Massage

Get a face cloth wet with warm water and rest it on your face for a minute or two. Rinse and repeat.

Massage 2-4 pumps of your Miiko Serum onto your face and neck. Go in circular, upward motions and release tension in your cheeks and jaw. This should feel good! The goal here is to promote blood circulation and drain the lymph.

If you have a Gua Sha Tool you can use it as well, but your fingers work fine!

Keep the skin oily for the massage, add more serum if you need too.

        Step Two: Konjac Sponge (optional)

If you have a Konjac Sponge, get it wet and start to gently exfoliate your face. You do not need to wash your face yet, just use the wet konjac sponge to gently remove the oil and excess dead skin cells. You might need to get it wet a few times!

Step Three: Wash Clean & Cold Towel

Now you will have to get up and go to the bathroom. Apply the Honey Face Wash and rinse your face clean of any residue.

Get the second facecloth wet with cold water and come back to your spa chair and rest with it over your face or eyes.

        Step Four: Toner and Serum

When you are ready, take the cool washcloth off and gently spray your favourite Miiko Toner onto your face avoiding the eyes. Allow your skin to tighten from the toner.

Take your time here! Share stories, drink wine, etc...

When you are ready, pat 1-2 pumps of Miiko Serum onto your face as a light final moisturizer.

        Step Five: Foot Scrub (optional)

You could do your hands but it might be a problem for your computer and keyboard!

The feet and lower legs are often neglected or overlooked during the winter months, so with the sun shining and temperatures rising, give them some love and prep them for sandal season!

Gently massage a scoop of Rose Renewal in circular motions over your feet and lower legs (best used on damp/wet skin) to help exfoliate, soften skin, and promote circulation.

Don't have the Rose Renewal? You can DIY by mixing sugar and oil (like melted coconut oil)

Rinse them clean! Moisturize your feet with one of our Body Moisturizers
